1973 Topps Comics
Hank Aaron

This rare 1973 Topps Comics test issue features Hall-of-Fame legend Henry Aaron. These 3-1/2" x 4-5/8" thin paper issues were intended to be used as wrappers for Topps' "Baseball Comic Bubble Gum." One side (the outside of the wrapper) features Topps advertising and "Career Highlights of Johnny Bench," while the other (the inside of the wrapper) features a color player photo and comic depictions of the player's career highlights. This set is among the rarest of all the Topps test issues.

Henry Aaron enjoyed a spectacular 23-season career (1954-1976). He was a model of consistency, year in and year out. He's one of just two players to hit 30 or more home runs in at least 15 different seasons. He compiled at least 150 hits in 17 consecutive seasons. He was named to the All Star team every year between 1955 and 1975. And, most memorably, on April 8, 1974, he broke the great Babe Ruth's all-time home run record.

The offered example is one of just four specimens certified as NM-MT 8 by PSA, with none finer. It is in uncirculated condition with bright vibrantly colored artwork and pristine surface quality. Gorgeous eye-appeal.
