About Greg Bussineau
Greg Bussineau has been involved in the sports collectibles market since 1980. He has been a full-time dealer since 1982, when he founded Superior Sportcard. In 1996, he started Superior Sports Auctions to focus on selling world-class collections through catalog/telephone auctions. In 1999, Collectors Universe (parent company of PSA) purchased Superior Sports Auctions, upon agreement that Bussineau would stay on and run the company for three years. At the end of this agreement, Bussineau went back into business for himself and formed Legacy Sports Rarities in 2002. Currently doing business as Greg Bussineau Sports Rarities, he continues to focus on discovering and bringing to market the finest sports collectibles.
Over the past 30+ years, Greg Bussineau has bought and sold many of the most important and valuable sportscards ever produced. For example, under his management the Superior companies have sold all three of the 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle cards graded GEM MT 10 by PSA. He has been instrumental in helping to assemble some of the greatest sportscard collections in history, including those of James Copeland, Marshall Fogel, Charles Merkel, David Hall (founder of PSA), and Donald Spence. He was chosen to auction off the personal memorabilia collection of basketball Hall-of-Famer Bill Sharman, as well as the personal sportscard collection of PSA founder David Hall.
