1909-11 T206 White Border
Cy Young (Cleveland, Portrait)

This "Portrait" variety issue is one of three different cards within the landmark T206 set to feature legendary Hall-of-Fame pitcher Cy Young. Young enjoyed a spectacular 22-year career (1890-1911). He recorded 30 or more victories five times, and 20 or more victories ten times. He threw three no-hitters, and one perfect game. He registered two wins in the Boston Americans victorious 1903 World Series contest against the Pittsburgh Pirates. And he holds the all-time career records for most wins (511), most innings pitched (7,356), and most complete games (749).

The offered example is a stunning beauty. It is exceptionally well-centered, with large oversized borders. The printing quality is outstanding, with a clear detailed image of Young. The forest-green background color is absolutely spectacular - as bright and vibrant as the day this card was printed. The borders are pure snow-white. And the reverse is extremely clean with bold blue lettering. There are just three finer PSA graded copies.
