1910 E93 Standard Caramel
Honus Wagner
PSA NM-MT+ 8.5

Issued in 1910 by the Standard Caramel Company of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, the 30-card E93 set is one of the most popular and widely collected early candy and gum issues. Full of cards picturing some of the greatest players in the history of baseball, the issues featuring Pirates legend Honus Wagner and Tigers icon Ty Cobb are the most valuable and important pieces of the set.

Honus Wagner's 21-year career (1897 - 1917) spanned two different centuries. Considered by many to be the greatest shortstop of all-time, Wagner won eight different National League batting titles (tied for most ever), a World Series championship with the Pirates, amassed a career total of 3,420 hits, and finished with a lifetime batting average of .328. In 1936, he was one of the first five players inducted into the Hall-of-Fame. Wagner and Ty Cobb were the two greatest position players of the dead-ball era.

The offered E93 Honus Wagner is a world class example of this coveted pre-war classic. Graded NM-MT+ 8.5 by PSA, it is very doubtful that this example was ever in general circulation. The central image portion of the card is exceptionally well-centered, the borders are a blistering snow-white color, and all four corners form 90-degree angles. Wagner's image is boldly printed and clearly focused, and the ruby-red background color is bright and vibrant. Of the 66 examples of this card assessed by PSA, only one has received a higher grade.
